Are the closets and cabinets in your house too small? Do you find it difficult to fit in all your belongings into the little available space? Don’t worry! By using the right products, you can make them more organized and maximize their storage capacity.

At Millbrook Cabinetry, we have been designing stylish custom cabinets for our clients in Ontario since 1991. We offer innovative storage solutions for kitchens, bathrooms and other spaces.

If you’ve pared down your possessions and are still at a loss to fit everything into your closet, read on for tips which can help you.

Double Closet Rods

They have one upper and one lower rod mounted in parallel, whose height you can adjust to access the clothing easily. The differing heights help separate clothes by type and ensure longer items don’t drag on the floor. By installing an extra closet rod, you can instantly double the amount of hanging space.

Twin Closet Shelves

There is a lot of space above the top shelf in most closets. Use it by adding a ledge above the existing one. You can also install dividers in between to stack clothing and handbags.

Hooks Racks

If there is any free space on your closet walls or door, you can fix a rack of hooks there. Use it to hang your coats or your suitcases. Your handbags, loungewear and pajamas can also be stored in this manner.

Under-shelf Baskets

Use under-shelf baskets with a wide opening to keep your sweaters, scarves and other apparel organized. They allow easy access to the contents within.

Vertical Containers

Does your closet have a lot of vertical space between the top shelf and the roof? Don’t let it go to waste. You can use it to store handbags and seasonal items like sweaters in stacking drawers or labeled bins.

No matter how many cabinets you have, fully utilizing them isn’t possible without proper organization. Here are a few cabinetry solutions to help you increase their storage capacity:

Interior Cabinet Organizers

We offer a variety of organizations solutions to increase the amount of stuff your cabinets can hold. Some pre-fabricated solutions exist, but we can customize the solution to meet your specific storage needs.

Maximize Your Fridge Cabinets

Cabinets above the fridge are typically harder to access as modern fridges are much taller than they once were. In order to maximize the space, we recommend adding tray dividers to this cabinet. Trays can easily be reached from their vertical cubbies and you’d be surprised how many items can be stored this way (baking trays, muffin tins, charging plates, platters and cutting boards all work well in this type of storage solution).

Add pegboards on the walls of your cabinet. They offer flexible storage space, which can be adjusted over time according to your needs.

Nesting Tables

Install a built-in nesting table in your kitchen cupboard. It can be tucked away inside and pulled out when an extra chopping surface is required.

Use the Top of Your Cabinet

You can stash special-occasion serving platters and extra pantry supplies in this area.

Add pegboards in a drawer to make storing dishes, bowls, bakeware, glasses and Tupperware easier. Peg boards offer flexible storage space, which can be adjusted over time according to your needs.

Pullout Cutting Boards

Install a built-in nesting cutting board in your kitchen cabinets. It can be tucked away when not being used and pulled out when an extra chopping surface is required.

Bring Cabinets to the Ceiling

Not only does bringing cabinetry in the ceiling make a space feel larger, you gain storage space where you can stash special-occasion serving platters and extra pantry supplies.

Rollout Drawers

They provide additional shelves for your pots, pans and other kitchen items. They slide out for easy access and can hold heavy items like mixers.
